Also, 'wow' owns a prominentsticky thread in the Spanish forum, so you can make the necessary announcements there.

I guess I should put links to the different languages in the forum in the puppylinux.org home page - this is the frequently visited page.

Ideally, we want each language group to maintain a single home page, but if there are constant disagreements, we can find a way to sustain the creative energy of people (ie, rather than suppress it).
I'm so sorry for all this, raffy. Please understand that we're not supressing anyone, he is. What we actually want is the moderators to tell him to behave. I wish John were here. It's a shame and contradictory that he blurbs about having his own sites yet he invades official Puppy sites.

Moreover, the guys at Spanish MurgaLinux Community (a branch of the MurgaLinux Community which supports the Puppy Linux Project which has official website, forum, servers and repositories) support official Puppy builds, not only derivatives, even in the new IRC channel. The guy at Spanish Puppy-es Community (separate site, forum, server, repo, etc.) supports Puppy-es only. If we post even about official Puppy Linux and he doesn't like, he will re-edit everything and yet be so shameless to keep calling us trolls and complaining bitterly. Separate wiki home pages won't help, he'll still be able to edit both, won't him?

Even if the fellows at Spanish MurgaLinux do get a server, website, forum and repositories for their puppies, he will invent more ridiculous excuses to supress any derivatives not made by him.

I still don't understand why he's got such a disproportionate ambition -- usually in free software and opensource you don't get famous, get fans or get rich.

EDIT

This is endless and useless, so personally I decided to stop here and pay attention to more important things. Besides, it's summer holidays here. Thank you Raffy and all for your help.

I've just checked the wiki page and found that the new owner of the "http://puppylinux.org/wikka/espanol" page is mama21mama. He is the "Village's Idiot", more info at #archlinux-co (spanish) and [here] so... congratulations, you have just trolled yourself too.

I guess that you're not trusting what vicmz wrote, please try to trust me. Every single word is truth. There no such a thing like mama21mama's "Hispanic community", he is alone in this.

Sorry raffy, I don't want to "split" the user base.

the wiki is to put serious things. not to put all remaster have lying around.

If a remaster becomes serious, assemble a project together. own repositories, own server.

I think there just might be some information in the wiki.

But trying to put the remaster is closed. No part of the. One is that a remaster who want to impose.
This is incorrect the wiki is for storing any and all Puppy linux knowledge - and maybe even organizing it a bit.

Whether a project has or hasn't got its own server is irrelevant to how useful a project is.

Thanks for pointing that out. It looks like someone is able to modify the control settings (ACL) of that espanol wiki page in favor of mama21mama.

Not only in mama21mama's favor, but blocking vicmz! I've attempted to fix it. Surely trollish behavior. It is preferable for people to thrash out any differences in the 'comment' section of the page before engaging in an edit war.

---

Regard the Spanish footer, I've split it to a separate page:
http://puppylinux.org/wikka/Enlaces_%C3%BAtiles

This can be added to any page using the wiki code:
{{include Enlaces útiles}}

This makes it easy to add to a page and can be maintained in one place.

---

Finally, with the 'language bar' the idea is that its possible to have an equivalent page in any language.

Before, the Spanish homepage was the child of the English homepage. Now it is the Spanish equivalent of homepage. Therefore in the bread crumbs it may be more appropriate to just to point to 'página principal' without need to the English homepage link. For example,
http://puppylinux.org/wikka/Componentes

Here the page Componentes gets a breadcrumb because it is an 'index' page with further sub-pages.

More info on the language bar here-
http://puppylinux.org/wikka/LanguageBars

BTW this is not an ideal solution, but can be implement without changing any wikka code.

It is OK to login to the wiki now. The problem was user access to the database. It took sometime for support to appreciate the nature of the problem.

wikka transfer

Thanks to Micko's help, we are trying to transfer the wiki to the host of puppylinux.com. This will unify hosting for content of puppylinux DOT org and DOT com. (Whether puppylinux.org stays as the wikka url is a matter of domain technicalities, so we wait).

ALERT FOR WIKI EDITORS

Thanks to 01micko, the wiki is now hosted at

wikka.puppylinux.com

Editors should use this new, wikka-upgraded site.

Thanks, Micko, for working on the transfer.

When you log in you may find the site doesn't look right. This is because the wikka software is updated because the php version on my server is 5.6. The very latest wikka version needs php-7.0 and the old version on puppylinux.org maxed out at php-5.4.

To fix the terrible look you need to change theme. The default is 'classic' but you can choose 'kubrick' or 'light'. Let us know if this fixes it for you -- or more importantly if it doesn't!

UPDATE: Hopefully this is fixed as I added the old 'default' theme as a plugin
