Nice, last night on IRC someone was telling me about doublecmd
It needs freepascal/lazarus to compile but precompiled binaries run too.
It launches pmount at startup when probing drives though which is a bit annoying...

I finally changed up and burned the DPUP! Very nice, clean and fast! I believe this PUP was made in the true spirit of what Barry had originally intended.

Fast...

Easy to use....

Light....

Useful Applications....

I especially appreciate the nice CUPS interface and a good working Dillo. :D

Working extremely well and bullet fast on the PC below.

One note, it appears the PPM seems to blog the system down when downloading updates. You may want to include fewer repositories by default.

Just a thought.

Best,

Glad it works for you.
Yes, I know about ppm it's mentioned, will work on alternative debget script when i get time.

Here are few more apps I compiled for 487, dropbear ssh server/client and ufraw-batch command-line for converting raw photos (works with image magick's convert tool from 486 pets)
I tested dropbear only through lan between laptop and desktop

dropbear-2014.63-i486-dpup487.pet 275 KB
ufraw-0.19.2-i486-dpup487.pet 569 KB

OpenSSL 1.0.1h
Up until now we used older 0.9.8 version which wasn't vulnerable to heartbleed bug, but now more other bugs are fixed so here's latest for dpup487

openssl-1.0.1h-dpup487.pet

EDIT: Now I see that I'll need to recompile this with shared library configure parameter because it doesn't build libssl in /usr/lib, only openssl in bin.

Here's the correct pet: openssl-1.0.1h-shared-dpup487.pet

I haven't used dpup in a while but plugged the flash drive into my

I downloaded and installed the latest proprietary nvidia driver.

More packages:
If needed for compiling here's new cmake-3.0.0-dpup487.pet

Updated hiawatha: hiawatha-9.6-dpup487.pet
+ PHP php-5.5.14-i486-dpup487.pet

So, puppy + hiawatha + php + sqlite3 = lightweight and cool 8)

dejan, i installed-frugal of dpup 487.

did the delta update no issues. things are generally fine all around.
one issue i have is that i dump my /desktop evry month or as needed. when i tried to highlight the contents and move to my dump folder, it won't do anything. single files yes but not mass files.
any ideas?

Desktop as in "pinboard icons desktop" or some directory named desktop?
I didn't have any issues when copying/moving from one directory to another in rox.

/desktop in root. still not happening. if i highlight 6 files and try to drag it just shifts highlight from text to icon. no movement

And these are regular files that you're moving from /desktop?
No idea, everything worked ok with rox for me so far.
Not sure how I would replicate this.
Do you have some keyboard key stuck that might be changing behavior? :D

Dpup 487 runs in France too (puppy pfix=nox)

Dpup 487 runs in France too (puppy pfix=nox) netbook Medion P7624 (2012).
Wireless connected. Seamonkey once crashed. rebooted.
Drec 2.1 replaced with drec 2.0 process ogv to avi now ok.
well...
temp = proc acpi thermal linked to desktop

Drec 2.1 (dpuprec) video.ogv ok

Removed from dpuprec process 'remove ogv' and ogv file well exist and is correct.
The problem is in post processing to avi.
FFmpeg seems not installed, needed by drec to process video to avi.
Done with puppy precise retro 5.4.3 uploaded youtube.
audio not recorded although alsamixer capture was activated.

Remember for non-Dpup users, Drec requires a recent ffmpeg, with x264, xvid and theora support. (Dpup already has them) 487 too ?
"Hey Pelo, thanks for testing and video, yes dpup 487 has ffmpeg" confirm Dejan, here below

Hey Pelo, thanks for testing and video, yes dpup 487 has ffmpeg

Code: Select all

1 root:~$ ffmpeg
ffmpeg version 2.2.1 Copyright (c) 2000-2014 the FFmpeg developers

  libpostproc 52. 3.100 / 52. 3.100
Hyper fast Audio and Video encoder
usage: ffmpeg [options] [[infile options] -i infile]... {[outfile options] outfile}...

Use -h to get full help or, even better, run 'man ffmpeg'
Yeah I didn't look into drec script since but I'll get to it.
Also, I might do another update delta with newer seamonkey and few other fixes since update 1
