I agree....I will not download programs that change existing settings I have. It's one reason I left windows.
Who decides, because I download firepup, that I want it as my default browser?

I have another screenshot that might give a further clue to the issue. Notice that the blue bar at the top of the Facebook screen is taller on mine than on wosifat's. It's as if it's being compressed sideways and adjusted to avoid overlapping text. I bet that's what's happening with the bottom toolbar, too.

You can't see it in my example, but I have noticed the same tiny indication of the notification button that wosifat has, and when I click on it, I get the Notifications pop-up.

You know, not that you mention it, I've noticed mine doing that, too.

@ ttuuxxx - do you still happen to have your hacked source code for Firepup?
Check out my github repositories. I may eventually get around to updating my blogspot.

thanks so much for this program!!! Is there a way to make the search box bigger? I moved it next to the help on the menu and would like it to take up the whole line.

THANKS again

yes install this tiny addon, restart FirePup and you'll be able to drag it right or left to make it bigger or smaller :)

FirePup Install / missing dependancies

#90 Post by gazinbali »

Welllll.. after reading about Firepup.. Ithought I would give it a whirl.. so downloaded and installed.. BUT.. I have a huge list of missing dependancies... Can someone advise .
1/ why they are not included in the package ?
2/ Where do I gettum?
3/How do I know which ones are missing at the bottom of the list which went off the screen so I cant read them all?
4/ Can someone fix that problem so we can see a long list... and no, my screen res wont go up a notch ( 1280x750 or close)

See attached jpg
Thanks

Did you try running FirePup?

The experts can tell you better than I can, but as I recall, some puppies show that there are some dependencies missing, but they are all things that FirePup doesn't actually need to run.

That's happened with a few other pets I've used. Everything runs fine though. Hopefully that will be the case for you.

Hmm looks like the 'missing dependancies' are in the firefox folder and the package manager is not aware of the fact...the firefox launch script sets up paths which takes care of this so simply try running it

Your missing the system links, funny some miss it and some don't, I'll upgrade FirePup and supply them, here's the pet for your missing links.

Well the firefox profile in .mozilla in your home folder will need removing/backing up/renaming .
Both firefox installs can exist just use/link to the one you want,

I think this was the last version, I made it tar.gz for other distros.

Voila!

Changing the extension to either .tar.gz or .tgz works fine. My ark always says i fails but never does -- go figger. Lookin' forward to giving it a whirl! :)

Ttuuxxx -- the link doesn't work for me and the link is gone from the mozillazine post -- ?? :?
