Ok thanks for the info.
Ah bubbles... actually it was twice as fast with X 6.8 (circa puppy 2.02) ...was no fun with later pups as simply not as snappy. Is there a 3d bubbles game?
For whatever reason that older build of X was amazingly fast or is it later builds became slow for a while... certainly the modeset bunnies (lucid +) are back to something more responsive...I notice the difference with the speed xfce4 starts up. Bubbles does not use gtk2 so eliminates that from the reason.
Ok that was a digression...
So short response ...I need to feel no guilt over ROX and can carry on bug fixing after a remaster.... too many eggs in one basket syndrome...there is always something that gets missed or behaves differently once incorporated in the sfs.
Also found the neat hack so ROX uses /usr/share/rox for its data as other distros are fond of doing and ROX-Filer can be run directly without needing a variable. Never did like that /usr/local/apps stuff but then I am not a puppy bunny.
