Lucid Puppy 5.2.7 RC2
Snail and Playdayz. I seem to have packaged Right-click-4.9.6-2-luci.pet pet wrongly. When all the stuff should have been in OpenWith folder, part of them went to the SendTo folder and that is only symlink in Lucid Puppy. Those folders were lost.
That is not same in all Puppies. Some Puppies have symlinks otherway around. I seem to have lost my concentration.
Now all the stuff are in OpenWith folder. 21 folders are now added. Also those missing inode and imount folders..
My mistake, I am sorry. Here is rightly packaged pet. I added some more to the inode folder.

I am sorry pemasu. I just built it for what I hope is the last time. The right-click menu has been working for me. I actually would not want so many entries as I saw in a picture in the forum.Snail and Playdayz. I seem to have packaged Right-click-4.9.6-2-luci.pet pet wrongly. This is the kind of thing i have been seeing, depending on the type of file of course.

Playdayz. I thought that I was too late.
I merely added those missing file format associations, there wasnt going to be more stuff per file format in the right click menu.
Anyway, I will continue to inspect as full file format coverage as reasonable.
That empty inode folder was maybe the most important missing piece.

SOLVED ntfs problem -- thanks to Playdaz
Hi All,
I've been using Luci-266 for at least a week without a problem until now. I wanted to transfer some files from sda2 (formated Ext3) to sdb2 formatted by XP as ntfs. Attached is a screen shot of the message I received, and, of course while the partition opened, being read-only, I was unable to transfer the files.
I'll try this in Lupu 5.25 and get back.
Now posting from Lupu 5.25. It had no problem opening sdb2.,
Ideas? Suggestions? My problem alone to be suffered in silence?
mikeslr
Edit:7/28/11> If you're first reading this, perhaps my suffering in silence would be best. I've opened 3 other ntfs partitions in Luci-266 on the same computer without incident. It must be something about sdb2 that Luci doesn't like.
Edit 2: After writing above I continued reading this thread and came upon Playdaz reply suggesting that there might be a folder in /mnt having the name sdb2. So I opened to /mnt and there was. Opening "that" sdb2 revealed an XP portable app I had installed. When installing it Wine asked for its intended location and, apparently, I had selected sdb2 without realizing that partition wasn't yet opened. "That" sdb2 revealed only the unpacked/installed portable app. Choosing "Show hidden files" to make certain I got them all, and deleting them cured the problem. Thereafter, mounting sdb2 and opening it from either the desktop icon or /mnt worked correctly.
BEWARE OF installing xp apps in what Wine sees as being anywhere on drive "Z:." Wine, apparently doesn't check to see if partitions are mounted.

use SendTo folder
About right click options...
The OpenWith folder should be used with right click options
to be compatible with earlier versions of Puppy such
as puppy 4.3.1. I was fooled because the SendTo folder
is what seems to be used in Lucid Puppy.
I only discovered this yesterday!!! I will have to repackage my
software.

mikeslr, From the message I think perhaps there is a folder or file of the same name in /mnt/.

Right clicks and Man command
Playdayz, I know it's late but right clicks is so useful that it would be a pity not to include Pemasu's fix. Why spoil the ship for a ha'porth o' tar?
On a happier note the man command bug is not as serious as it first seemed. It's not a Seamonkey problem and has nothing to do with VDPAU. I got the exact same symptoms with pfix=ram, where the man command invoked Dillo. Closing the browser restores the terminal function. Rox term needs a closing message from the browser it seems.
Back with Seamonkey, if Seamonkey is already open, the problem doesn't seem to arise. It may be that the effect only occurs if the browser is opened by the RoxTerminal. Not super user-friendly but maybe it's a "Feature", not a bug.

Right clicks
Hi Pemasu,
I added gdmap to the inode right clicks.
The command in AppRun is
gdmap -f "$1"
and .DirIcon is a symlink to either /usr/local/lib/X11/mini-icons/gdmap.xpm or /var/local/icons/gdmap.xpm (The first is another symlink)
I haven't had time to check it out further, but a lightweight tree display might be worth thinking aboutl?

Hi playdayz,
Sorry, rc has introduced a new bug. I tried to use Burniso2cd, selected CD and hit OK and the Usage for xdialog message came up full screen. To illustrate the problem I reduced it a little and included the Burniso2cd dialogue box in the attached image.
I'll continue testing and report any problems.
Two more observations: It did not recognize my 266 save file or offer to upgrade it(forgot that it's lupu now), also upon reboot when I tried to use Firefox which had .mozilla linked from /mnt/home it was a bad link and I had to link it again.
Cheers,
Jim

It is a new manual frugal installation. I'll burn it with another distribution and see what another computer will do. This happened on my main machine.playdayz wrote:I see your picture, but it is not doing that to me, so far at least. Was there anything strange? Was it an update?Sorry, rc has introduced a new bug. I tried it again and it works perfectly. Learned something, I did not realize that to use Burniso2cd that you have to have a save file.
