no rush for answers, my server farm is in deep storage and I have no place to set it up for a few weeks to months

need to move but no place ready, RV at ranch too small. Personal issues <lost tire = accident while driving not resolved fully> and many hospital trips and surgeries to worry over this month.

No, it's not! Something is wrong with your system's /etc/ssl.

I'm running Barry's QU 6.2.1 Any suggestions? I just logged in and downloaded the .zip file using the browser, instead. It didn't take long. I'm up to the ./0setup stage and it seems to be working fine, this way.

Do you need to login to Github via terminal before the git instruction?

And you're right, the etc/ssl is empty in my QU.

Any reason why you are directing users to use the "testing" branch
instead of the "master" branch?

I have no experience of woof-CE, but in Debian, the "testing" branch is
recommended for very advanced users only, because users with average
knowledge of Linux may be stumped by the bugs that remain in the
"testing" branch.

Wouldn't the "master" branch of woof-CE produce a more stable Puppy?
Referring to my previous post, wouldn't the "master" branch require
less power of abstraction on the part of users, I mean: be easier to
understand and conceptualize?

I'm not "questioning" anything here, I'm just putting a toe in the river
before my first swimming lesson, so to speak.

Me thinks (with all due respect) that Iguleder is shooting himself in the foot:
if all Puppyists start "woof-ing" their Puppies, we won't need him anymore
and he'll be out of a "job"!

Yes, run something that was built using woof-CE (like tahrpup or Slacko) and not Barry's woofQ thing.

Not built with woof-CE. Or Woof period.

As far as I know,Fatdog uses an entirely different build system.

LFS and that is the only build system I have been successful with, did get really far with puppy-T2 for PPC decade or so ago, got blocked at xwindows part and a few less important places. WolfQ has a long thread of tears, and trials, and hoping some besides BK can figure it out before I try it.
So what is be latest STABLE anything that would serve as a build system base, since my current stable FD64 is not usable.
I am willing to give it a honest multiweek try.

hope someone in the know can Xplain the points that look obvious to everyone but a newB

spent the last few days riding the intercity metro bus to get around, some what concerned about the lack of front teeth seen on the riders nearby. Kinda a rough ride and lots of metal bars at teeth level.

No, I don't know espanol, it's just something we say in these French parts
when something looks very weird and we really don't understand.

Devuan appears to be a fork of Debian dating back this Spring.
