Hi all,
I have been told by my supervisor that I should start using LaTeX in preparation for writing my research project (the academic world seems to love LaTeX).
Unfortunately, however, I have, as of yet been unable to get this to work in Puppy. I installed texlive_2013 and then Gummi, texworks, geany-plugin-latex, but I always get an error like 'I cannot find pdflatex.fmt'.
It seems that there used to be a texlive .sfs package available. But the link is broken, and it is from 2011... see : http://boxen.math.washington.edu/home/emil/Latex/)
Anyway, if anyone has any idea how to get LaTeX working on Puppy, that'd be wonderful. It works on Lubuntu, for example and I am confident that Puppy can do this ! I am using TahrPup 6.0.2 on a frugal install. Help me you Puppy academics !
Ideally, I would like to use geany-plugin-latex (to keep with the lighter weight theme of Puppy).
Here is more detailed post of the problem : http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=101259

Found package geany-plugins in Fatdog64.uio wrote:Ideally, I would like to use geany-plugin-latex (to keep with the lighter weight theme of Puppy).
Easy to be installed by package manager gslapt.
Hope that helps.
