Would this be a suitable presentation program for Puppy to add to Abiword and Gnumeric?

That looks cool - did you try it?
Also, Abiword can now be compiled with a Presentation plugin. Although it is only very basic now as it has just been started, I think it is a great concept.

No as it needs compiling or setting up. Anyone up for a .pet creation?

I did write start writing Apres instead (very simple)

The Abiword plug in seems great. We did have one version of Puppy (was it Puppy 2.00?) which had Abiword with all the trimmings. It was very useful. We seem to have gone to a cut down version Sad

Again a Abiword with everything would save the mega download of Office for those just need a good WP.

hi lobster,

i was unsuccessful compiling it back in february, but i've just compiled the
28/5/2007 snapshot. but i wonder if it's what you're after? i found it difficult
to track down info on it's usage, until i stumbled across this link:

http://linuxfocus.planetmirror.com/English/September2000/article158.shtml#158lfindex2

do you think i should upload to additional software?

Yes - have you made it into a .pet with the documentation? That would be ideal. If it is a small program it might make it into Puppy Wink

That link is much more useful - I couldn't find any proper information when I looked. If its not a gui program it might not be popular enough to make it into Puppy, some of our keen gui writers that could always take it on as a challenge Smile

I think the abiword plugin would be extremely small, as it doesn't actually do a lot. Before I thought it was only for the 2.5 development series, and was a compile option for abiword itself, but now that I read that again I see that it is a separate plugin, and I don't think he actually says it won't work with older versions.

well i made it into a .pet but my attempts at uploading the 300k file via my miserable dialup
failed 5 times! will have to wait till local library opens on monday.

however i agree with disciple & question it's utility to the average pupster...anybody that wanted to use it would have a bit of a learning curve...wouldn't they be better of using OO impress?

Smile OO is rather huge - you know some of the problems, as you are experiencing them.

If you are using gftp and having difficulties go to options / FTP and click on passive file transfers to turn it off (worked for me)

Smile I am on it

the proof is in the presentation
Yes it takes learning but is fast and seems reliable

I already have a protoype 3 page presentation
It has some nice features

Will provide an example in the next day or two

Many thanks Smile
