01micko has kindly compiled it for the Fatdog64 community.
If you need to upgrade to official Mozilla Firefox 46 and above, you need to install these gtk3 libraries from 01micko.

PS: Fatdog 702 Final discussion starts from Page 6 of this thread.

Kirk and james are happy to announce the release of Fatdog64 702 RC on 7 February 2016.

Fatdog64 702 is a maintenance update to Fatdog 701/700, containing rolled-up updates that have been applied and available after 701 was released. New users are recommended to try 702, existing users do not need to upgrade unless they have problems that have been addressed in this thread prior to 702 release. The "fatdog-update" packages will continue to be refreshed and should be applicable to both 700, 701 and 702 for foreseeable future.

Note: Fatdog64 702 features the same kernel as 700 (3.18.7). This is a conscious decision to ensure that all existing 3rd party kernel modules for 700 will continue to work in 701.

If you want a newer kernel, a 4.3.3 kernel is available http://distro.ibiblio.org/fatdog/kernels/700/ or ibiblio's mirrors. Get both vmlinuz and the corresponding kernel-modules.sfs, then follow instructions on http://distro.ibiblio.org/fatdog/web/faqs/kernel.html, or you can use the Fatdog Updater.

Fatdog64 702 does not update from Fatdog64 701, 700 or any other earlier versions.

Get it from the usual location in ibiblio or one of its mirrors: aarnet, uoc.gr, and nluug.nl.

SFS-es are here: http://distro.ibiblio.org/fatdog/sfs/700/ and on ibiblio's mirrors too.

Credits for this release:
---
SFR (many bug reports and fixes, contributed packages), L18L (internationalisation and localisation, locale-switcher, momanager, translations, etc), step (bug report and fixes), and all other testers and contributors.

We also thank all who supplement Fatdog repository with many excellent contributed packages.

Previous version: Fatdog64 701

Looking beyond 702: 702 will be the last of the 700 run. But 700 series will continue with 710, which is rebuilt from scratch again (using the same version of compiler and glibc but slightly different configuration) and features a massive package updates. Existing contributed packages from 700 are expected to work with 710 except in very rare case. 710 is currently in alpha stage.

===== ORIGINAL 702 RC2 ANNOUNCEMENT =====

Fatdog64 702 RC2 is released on 30 Jan 2016, incorporating fixes and feedback (where applicable) up to page 4 of this thread, is released here: http://distro.ibiblio.org/fatdog/iso/702rc2. Mirrors should also have this shortly (24 hours at most).

A few things in RC2 (and RC) but not mentioned earlier:
a) Now it includes bonjour support, so all local machines in the same network can be addressed as "${hostname}.local" (e.g. if your machine is "odroid" you can access it as "odroid.local", from all machines in the same network).
b) right-click openbox menu is now sync-ed with panel-menu (RC2 only)
c) if you use multisession, you can choose the compression-level used for making the SFS at save time.

The rest of the notes from original RC (moved below to 2nd post) still applies. I have moved the original RC files to the "old" directory in their respective places.

Consider this RC2 as an "updated" RC, on its way to become Final. Testing period for this RC2 will run for about a week. If there is no problem with RC2, this will become the 702 Final.

Thank you for all testers and contributors.

Hello jamesbond

Thank you for fd702, I'm testing it on my new Braswell board...

I updated the kernel to 4.3.3 following your instructions, before I installed it.

I have only tested briefly, but I have found that video rendering in VLC is "speckled" the same as I had with fd700 and kernel 3.18.7 with i915.preliminary_hw_support=1. So the problem is not the kernel version.

Tahrpup64 with a 4.3.0 kernel and VLC 2.1.6 doesn't have the problem, but I had updated the display driver stack to the latest versions that I could find on Launchpad before I tested it.

Looking at your list of updates, the xf86 intel driver has not been updated. I know Intel has not released an official update to .917 for over a year, but people seem to just build from git. The only other difference was libdrm 2.4.65 whereas on Tahrpup64 I have 2.4.66.

I'll try using the same Intel driver that I installed in Tahrpup64.

Thank you for your work on fatdog

EDIT

I checked a new Tahrpup64 install, without updating the drivers but with kernel 4.3.0 and VLC renders correctly. The intel_drv.so is noticeably bigger that fatdog's

Permissions of the /tmp directory are incorrect in the SFS and override basesfs when fd64-nls_702rc.sfs is loaded.

clean (frugal) install on lenovo x201

on boot hanging immediately after first line in boot sequence, hdd icon stayed on and fan ramped up

tried ctrl-alt-backspace and boot continued, connected to wifi, added chrome and rebooted creating savefile and now unable to reboot to working os, stuck at first boot line

will delete and try again & report back

Smile

edit: deleted, re=downloaded ISO and reinstalled with clean savefile, all worked fine.....

Minor oversight in Service & Startup managers:
Code:
# diff /aufs/pup_ro/etc/servicemanager /etc/servicemanager
9c9
< RESERVED=":S01logging:S40network:README.txt:"
---
> RESERVED=":S01logging:S40network:README.md:"
#
# diff /aufs/pup_ro/usr/bin/fatdog-startup-manager.sh /usr/bin/fatdog-startup-manager.sh
22c22
< RESERVED=":README.txt:"
---
> RESERVED=":README.md:"
#

Yeah, mdview is really nice and fast!
I spotted one not converted link though, in /usr/share/doc/fd-help/no-savefile.md: [**search**](boot-options.html)

Another minor glitch in Service Manager is that 3 VBox services' names (vboxautostart-service, vboxballoonctrl-service & vboxweb-service) are truncated to 'service' alone.
Maybe something like this would suffice..?
Code:
# diff /aufs/pup_ro/usr/sbin/fatdog-service-manager.sh /usr/sbin/fatdog-service-manager.sh
171c171
<       *-*) SNAME=${1#*-} ;;
---
>       ??-*) SNAME=${1#*-} ;;
#

Greetings!

@all
Code:
sed -i 's/boot-options.html/boot-options.md/' /usr/share/doc/fd-help/ no-savefile.md
will fix it.

So I will have to look myself Why Fatdog does not use my savefile? Embarassed

BTW, I have been playing with fatdog-remaster and dd'ing the remaster to usb.
/usr/sbin/fix-usb.sh was always exiting because of "partition 3 not empty".
Success after commenting the exit:
