USB installation /etc/ directory
I downloaded the .iso file onto my laptop, copied it onto a CD and booted another system using this CD. Then, using the "Universal installer program" , I was able to copy the contents into a USB stick.
However, I donot see a /etc/acpi directory. I believe this is the directory where the ACPI settings are present. Please let me know if I am wrong.
If you can let me know where the ACPI settins are located, it would be great.

a while
You'll have to wait a while, not too many users tinker with acpi in Puppy.
Related info: shutdown problems in using Puppy 2+ in some PCs sparked interest in the acpi issue as the system could not shutdown until "modprobe apm" is done in console or "acpi=force" is used at bootup time (in command line or in the Grub menu.lst). _________________ Puppy user since Oct 2004.
