Re: emtying trash causes memory to go to zero
While we are on the subject, I teach Information Technology and I spend a lot of time with my students in differentiating between "memory" (aka RAM) and "storage" (aka Disk Space). One is volatile the other is non-volatile.Lobster wrote:yesterday

I should have loads
emptied the trash (been saving and deleting wav files - they is big - could it be that?)
...[snip]...
memory back
Puppy on full strength
You can not keep that Puppy down - too frisky . . .
I am in Puppy Ofice 2.03 - I think it is thetrashcan being emptied . . .
Now I don't know if it was a deliberate choice on anyone's part, but the little utility that sits on the task bar is telling me I have 802Mb of "Free Memory" when in fact it means there is 802Mb of "Free Disk Storage" remaining on my partition.
Is there any possibility this confusion might be resolved for Puppy 2.10 Gold? Just askin'.
i did do some testing before i uploaded it, and it seemed to work well, normalizing mp3s and folders of mp3s
maybe you could upload an mp3 that causes trouble on your machine? if you do, upload it so you can delete the attachment afterwards
if your mp3 does cause trouble on my machine too, i doubt if i could do much to fix the problem ... the executable just uses a few standard library files ... maybe an older version would be more compatible with Puppy
