Alsa problems after re-compile pup 2.02

#1 Post by gamfa »

I was finally able to work out how to compile a kernel on puppy and finally got my conexant driver working but alsa has gone south. I used the kernel config that was installed on the system. I did change the cpu type tp P4 while I was at it. Now when it boots I get all kinds of errors on alsa and then of course oss has a fit also. The snd_xxx modules load as does soundcore. I am using a Creative labs pci card which obviously uses the emu10k1 module. If I modprobe emu10k1 I
get the following error...

Code: Select all

FATAL: Error inserting snd_emu10k1 (/lib/modules/2.6.16.7/kernel/sound/pci/emu10k1/snd-emu10k1.ko): Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg)
Dmesg gives me a long laundry list of errors simular to this.

Code: Select all

snd_emu10k1: disagrees about version of symbol snd_ctl_add
What did I do wrong and how can I fix it?
