you can run the android sdk. Barry Kauler released a special version of puppy for developers with android sdk and android studio. Also you can run android x86.iso in qemu or virtualbox. Then there are several google extensions, such as ARC

Hi disallowed,

Android emulation seems to be in the air recently. As I just posted elsewhere, when Android-SDK was first mentioned on the Forum, I downloaded it from its website, unpacked it on /mnt/home, linked it to Puppy via script + pixmap + desktop file to create a Menu entry and ran it from there. Never did anything with it. Don't know if current android sdk and android studio can be run that way. But it won't take more than a half-hour plus download time to find out.

Edit: Wonder if interest in Android Emulator has anything to do with whatsapp? http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 540#895540.

If so, see post by watchdog on above thread indicating that Palemoon has an addon. That's interesting as a quick "google" only revealed Chrome and Opera extensions. Palemoon is forked from firefox; while slimjet uses the same "blink" engine as Chrome. As I'm posting from slimjet, figured I'd check. It has several related addons

How to install virtualbox? I tried to install virtualbox-qt from PPM, but it said that I need install devx.sfs first. But I don't find it at SFS Downloader.

And how to install qemu? I see several packages at PPM.

No, it has to do with a debit card app.

Finally, after an update at PPM, Oracle VM is installed. Now I config to create a Virtual Machine. What type OS I must select? Linux 2.6?

First try was not successful:
Kernel driver not installed (rc=-1908)

The VirtualBox Linux kernel driver (vboxdrv) is either not loaded or there is a permission problem with /dev/vboxdrv. Please reinstall the kernel module by executing

'/etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup'

as root. If it is available in your distribution, you should install the DKMS package first. This package keeps track of Linux kernel changes and recompiles the vboxdrv kernel module if necessary.

Why emulate android?

You can run android-x86 directly.

I tried to boot android from CD, but it didn't work. There's only a black display with a flashing cursor at the middle. I wonder if my toshiba satellite 2450-s203 is incompatible.

Ha thanks anyway, souleau
I'm trying to work with Google Drive office from within Puppy.
It is impossible to fight this beast with web browsers and old PCs
