what repo does puppy lucid use?

#1 Post by Abdo Alrhman Aiman »

Hi,

puppy lucid is built on Ubuntu lucid 10.4, right? so, is it means that puppy's lucid package manger lists old versions of apps? because that's what happed when I used Ubuntu lucid 3 years ago, i got a synaptic package manger that was filled with outdated apps!

also, what about precise? what is it built on and what repo does it use?

hope someone helps :)

Hello, AAA.

Lucid is indeed based on Ubuntu 'Lucid Lynx 10.04 LTS. The Ubuntu repos will be the old ones.....but as far as I know, the version of Lucid maintained by Richard Erwin (rerwin) does use an updated set of 'Puppy' repos. 'Lucid Lynx' reached EOL in April last year.

As for 'Precise', it uses the repos from Ubuntu 'Precise Pangolin' 12.04 LTS. These are still current, since '12.04' hasn't yet reached EOL.
