Any takers for this Linux Malware Detection(LMD)?

#1 Post by Atle »

I am not competent to say like "Yes this is it"... But as usual the promotion text suggests that. But as Puppy Linux is growing with maybe a 100 000 new user every week, we might get targeted right?

so... a few million new users a year?

i think most likely your browser will be targeted, nothing personal to puppy.

but puppy is most likely capable of running whatever installs itself next. on top of that, puppy is running as root, but hopefully running the browser as a normal user would help. so would running the browser in xephyr-- run an entire nested x server as a normal user. (quite doable and easier than it sounds-- install xephyr and thats 95% of it.)

Looks interesting although linux people usually want a Windows malware detection software.. to clean Windows. I remember trying to make nod32 work in Puppy
