Ok.

Compiling in tahr64 605 with glibconfig.h added to the system (/usr/include/...) gives another complain about some gdkconfig.h missing.

Changed the GTKLIB line in makefile to:

Code: Select all

GTKLIB = -lX11 `pkg-config --libs gtk+-2.0`
Opened up a terminal and typed make did compile successfully.

The 64bit aemenu attached (fake .gz).

Have you tested it yet with the MRUF or similar script?

No.

And I don't even have the time to do so until the end of the week, sorry.

@vovchik
Hi!

Where can one find a 64-bit version of the bcm utility -- or its source?
(In light of the 64-bit aemenu-pango that LP managed to compile.)

TIA

Just add -lX11 to the GTKLIB line in Makefile.. no need of the compile script.

Alternatively, hack the compile script to suit your system.

Dear musher0,

The source of bcm (bcm.bac) I posted in the weather stuff. In any case, here is the link. Bcm was written in Bacon and you need a recent Bacon to compile it. I know it works in 64-bit Tahr, since the author of Bacon compiled it there and it worked. :) I can ask him to send me the binary, or a puppian with bacon installed can give it a whirl.

With kind regards,

Downloaded and attached here.

Replaceit for 64bit is here.

Edit:

Arrggh, the bcm included seems to be a 32bit binary, as it runs in tahr 602 32bit.

Dear all,

Here is a bcm 64-bit Tahr binary. It was compiled by Peter van Eerten, author of BaCon. I hope it works for you. :)

Hello vovchik.

Many thanks to Peter van Eerten for his kind gesture
-- and to you for asking him.

Hello, all!

Ugly, yes? (Not talking about the girl!!!) ;)

It's based on my wmx menu creation script, that was published in the
January 2017 Issue of the Puppy Linux Newsletter.

I took this up as a challenge to recreate a "standard-looking" menu from
the wmx menu. Because people are easily lost when faced with novelty.

I sincerely believe this advantageously compares to all-dressed up
openbox or icewm menus.

It's all done with vovchik's hacked aemenu presented on the first page of
this thread -- and a lot of creative sweat! :)

The menu script is attached as well as the companion Exits script. Other
companion scripts are missing. Please ask me if interested, I'll then come
up with a proper and complete pet archive.

Any constructive comment welcome. BFN.

Hello all.

It would be unfair to use only the menu and not to present the entire window
manager it was made for, wouldn't it?

Please go see the illustration here.

If you're like me, you'll be amazed at how contemporary this WM still is.
