How do you remove pup_save.3fs from win xp? (I am not admin)

#1 Post by clootj »

I installed Puppy 2.02 on my win XP computer at work. I do not have admin privileges. I installed a 1.25 gb pup_save file on my hard disk, and everything seemed to work fine. Something went wrong when I was downloading new packages and I had to reboot. When I restarted Puppy with the cd, it was as if there was no pup_save file. When I tried to make another one I got error messages. So I tried to remove the file or rename it, and XP tells me that I don't have sufficient privileges. I tried to remove the file from within Puppy, and that does not work. I can get admin privileges with some explanations that I may not want to give, and I would like to avoid that if possible. :?

You should be able to delete the file from Puppy after booting the LiveCD with the puppy pfix=ram boot parameter. Then just mount the disk in MUT and delete the file with rox.

Someone has reported that problem, and he was able to use the pup_save again (perhaps after Windows did a system check?). Try finding that post if the problem persists.
