If you get desperate you could try this pet:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/9dv6zosap ... bs-0.1.pet
I don't know if it is compatible with Simplicity but you could give it a go.
I recommend hiding your savefile first. Just try it after doing a fresh boot into the pristine Simplicity with no changes.

SSR 0.3.6
@newlink
This version of SimpleScreenRecorder will work for you:
ssr-0.3.6.-i686.pet ( 1.176 k , xz compression , md5 = 1c01a5733fd2980752e7dacfb942f338 )
libpulse.so.0 and libjack.so.0. will not be needed because this version is compiled without Pulseaudio and without Jack support.
libavformat.so.55 and libavcodec.so.55 are needed by the application and are already included in your system by default.
libQtGui.so.4 and libQtCore.so.4 are mandatory needed by the application.
This means you will need to install qt-4
If you want you could use this package ( a lot smaller than the PPM offered package )
qt-4.8.6-i686.pet ( 9494 k , xz compression ) ( md5 , 46a08e8ce96b909cc5cb33157c01cf9e )
Cheers!

This worked real, thanks a lot.
H264, MP4, and MP3 are my usual settings. I don't resize
The best results for the easiest screencaster very grateful to the developer. I would like more feed back about SSR, not only install, which is quite easy, but settings and opinion about quality.
H264, MP4, and MP3 are my usual settings. I don't resize for you Tube.

Greengeek's package for Slacko 5.6 works beautifully.
I've just got rid of my Slacko 570 install, 'cos it was getting to be 'problematic', and misbehaving itself more often than not (it kept interfering with my install of rg66's X-Slacko 2.3.2; both run the same kernel), and replaced it with its immediate predecessor, 560. Which runs great.
Greengeek's package installed & fired-up straightaway. Cheers, mate! That'll come in useful for some of the tutorial vids I occasionally put together.
Appreciated.
Mike.

Why Debian Dogs should invent their own screen recorder...
lucky Puppy Strectch, users can download SSR Simple Screen Recorder from the Packages manager. Why Debian Dogs should invent their own screen recorder... This one is perfect, for my usage of course
But the Dpup Strectch PPM has a secret, i let you discover.. I am not the only user who will use it. Perhaps Debian does not like that puppy passengers are in advance re their own debianophiles

.SSR available in 64 bits ;
64bits Puppy Slacko on try because i am curious. SSR available in 64 bits ; provided by norgo.
. But something wrong, not found in terminal, however well here
# simplescreenrecorder
bash: /usr/bin/simplescreenrecorder: No such file or directory
#
Xvidcap 64bits from Fatdog repo is an alternative, or use slacko 32 bits with SSR32.

Don't try to run 32bit applications in a 64bit operating system.
I never provided a 64bit version of SSR before.
Don't claim such kind of things.
64bit version now to obtain here

SSR 0.3.8.2 tested sucessfully with puduan 7.0.0. That was more to test PPM than to install SSR, now available in most Puppies. MP4, MP3, H264, fully serviceable in this Puduan. Dependancies QT well provided joined to main app SSR. Video is perfect (audio and images)

Re: .SSR available in 64 bits ;
Hi, norgo.
Tahr 64, for instance, has 32-bit compatibility libraries in an SFS package, to allow running 32-bit applications within a 64-bit OS.
It's accepted fact that 32-bit stuff will run on a 64-bit CPU; the same cannot be said for the reverse.
I run the newest version of Chrome (now 64-bit only) in Tahr 64.....but I also run the final 32-bit version alongside it....
(Don't ask...!! )
Mike.
Actually, that's not, strictly speaking, exactly true..... Although I understand where you're coming from.norgo wrote:@Pelo

Mm. I agree. That's how Ubuntu, and all the mainstream distros do it. We, of course, in Puppy, don't have that ability.....which is where the '32-bit_compat_libs' SFS package comes into it. It achieves the same purpose.norgo wrote:Hi Mike,
by default it's not possible to run 32bit applications in a 64bit operating system because lack of needed libs.
To be able to run 32bit applications in a 64bit OS you will need the Multilib version of this OS.
Greetings
In Windows, the 'system32' and 'syswow64' folders permit the same thing, essentially. At least, that's how I understand it.....
Sorry for de-railing your posting..!
