Atlantis lift off and two more Puppy's born no hard Drives!

#1 Post by Dragon »

Man it was great seeing the Atlantis lift off right across from the Indian River.

Prior to this I found two computers no hard drives in them.

Decktop Gateway Pent 3 256 ram and a CPQ Armanda Pent 2 128 ram owner had removed hard drives.
Paid $20 for both the guy wanted them out of his driveway form yard sale.

He then said you have to take the monitor, speakers, keyboard and printer.

I really didn't want these but its okay.

Well just got them all loaded with Puppy 2.02 opera.
Have to add a dsl card for desktop and a card for laptop.
I will find some in spare parts.
Also I picked up some great C+ and A + program books and Linux books newer samples for $2 a piece.
I'm on my way for a newbie maybe 2000 light years away lol.

Thanks Puppy,
Dragon

Dragon, you left out a lot. :) How are you running Puppy? Did you install new hard drives, or are you running from the CD? If the computers have CD or DVD burners in them, may I suggest you try multisession Puppy? 8)

I did get the Ethernet card from an older computer installed. On this desktop I picked from this discussion. No drivers I'm impressed 2.02 Puppy was quick install once again. Very impressed with this Linux. I don't have a hard drive installed.

I will try the Laptop sooner or later for wireless card. Will pick one up at the store this week. I have a strong feeling that will be sucessful asa well.

Not sure of the software you are mentioning link for download would be appreciated.

I'm going to try a hard drive in this unit and run another package OS shortly to learn the install.

Puppy hands down for me 2.02 Opera
Thanks,
Dragon
