I can't use SLIMJET with puPPy Tahr Linux 6.02 (SOLVED)

Hello everybody:

I'm using SLIMJET browser, in the versión you can find at the forum (.pet) Versión 6.0.8.0 (basado en Chromium 46.0.2490.71)

My home page is at protopage http://www.protopage.com/pp4mnkt3am#Home but now (as u can see at the attached vid) I can't edit my favourites.

I suppose its because of the old versión I'm using, so I went to the slimjet homepage and try to use an updated one, BUT...

although I downloaded the portable version, the ubuntu version (tar.gz), the .deb version... I CAN'T instal it correctly, because I can't use it.


Can u, plz, help me creating a .pet file with the latest slimjet version

I just downloaded the latest slimjet_i386.tar.xz and extracted the files to /root/my-applications. Then CD into the slimjet directory opened a terminal and used this command:

./flashpeak-slimjet --user-data-dir=/root/.config/slimjet

to start the slimjet browser. So far it seems to work well.

If you go to OscarTalks' link in the SlimJet thread, you can get a .pet for the newest version (12.0.9.0):-

There's also the SFS package, which can loaded/unloaded 'on-the-fly'. Oscar's package installs to /usr/lib; there's also my own 'generic' SFS package, which installs to /opt (same as Chrome).

Both of these definitely run fine in Tahr 6.05. In your case, I would advise upgrading from 6.02 to 6.05, through the Tahr Updates in Menu>Setup. This will modernise quite a number of things in Tahr, trust me.

SOLVED.

Although I instaled versión 12, the problem continued, so I unistalled all the extensión and I was solved.... then I discovered the problem
