What is the Desktop Bomb Icon for?

What is the bomb icon in the upper right corner of the Desktop for? I played with it and it wiped out the icons on my desktop. I that what it is supposed to do?

The bomb icon is the same as right clicking on a minimised program and selecting "kill" - it kills a frozen program.

There are many reasons why this should happen - Installing new software, glitches and so on.

It can also be used to delete programs so you click on the bomb and then click on the bomb and the bomb program is gone from the desktop

There are no reasons why this "should" happen.

There are many reasons why this "may" or "can" or "would" happen.
