4 Aussies New Aldi phone plan

Aldi use Telstra

Aldi selling year's worth of calls, texts and 42GB data for $249

" How to get your Super Pack

Head to your nearest ALDI store form 4th February and pick up a 1 Year Super Pack, it will contain everything you need to get started including a SIM card and a voucher code for the Super Pack.

Already have an ALDImobile SIM card?

You'll need to head to your local store and buy the special 1 Year Super Pack, it will come with a SIM card and a voucher code for the Super Pack.

Simply use the voucher code to recharge your existing service with a 1 Year Super Pack. You can keep hold of the SIM or give it to a friend or family member to use.

""""

I use TPG which uses Vodaphone.
Mind you TPG over the years internet and phone services have saved me thousands.

April might be interested in this, let alone Barry.

But for the country Voda has issues.
This might change me over.

Reasons here...over half way down.

Lithgow to Mudgee Vodaphone garbage service guide for early
2017.

So, you Guys got Aldi as well?

I'm using a prepaid card of Aldi Talk to connect to the web. Usually I'm choosing the so-called Internet XL flat rate which gives me 5GB at 15,-€ per 30 days. So, it's 60GB for 180,- € per year.

Though, I don't use it for phone calls.

Interesting. I currently have an Amaysim pay-as-you-go prepaid sim for phone calls, and a Virgin Mobile data sim, postpaid, no contract, $40 per month for 12GB, charging $15 for an extra 1GB.

Virgin is with Optus, Amaysim also I think.

If I end up moving to a country area, which is on the cards, then will go with Telstra, and that Aldi deal looks good.

Need to do the maths on this. Amaysim is costing me about $10 per month, but I severely limit calls.

Although the Aldi deal is only 42GB, I see that an extra 2GB costs $15, which is very good.

I think that Aldi started in Germany.

Incidentally, and rather humorously, my parents define the word "expensive" as "anything not from Aldi".

Yes, they are two brothers who had some big conflicts after years. So they split the company in Germany into Aldi Nord and Aldi Süd.

I don't know anything about ranking nowadays, though Aldi had been THE NUMBER ONE discounter in Germany for some decades. Aldi Talk is just a very few years old and in background it's just e-plus. The annoying thing on it is: when the sim-card is plugged into my cell phone, it connects to o2.

Uncle Aldi is really giving it to them here in Oz.

Woolworths and Coles just can't get it.

" Woolworths revealed three months ago that its average prices
fell 1.9 per cent from the year before.
It conceded Aldi’s entry into WA and South Australia in the June half
had affected trading but not to the extent expected. "

Aldi Sud in Oz

#8 Post by davids45 »

G'day,

Yes, Australia has the Sud part of the Albrecht Discount businesses.

Apparently the feuding brothers drew their dividing line through the middle-ish part of Germany so the Sud brother got all of the southern hemisphere as well as a fair bit of the north. Maybe the USA is divided between Sud and Nord? They have different logos (Nord & Sud - see attached image).

I don't know which brother ended up the richer but both were in the top five or ten richest list of Germans for quite a few years. At least one brother has now died.

Corner-store family-business grocers who 'done well'.
