Hi all,
Excuse me for asking this in a linux forum. But i didn't find any better place to ask this. I am a hobby programmar and I am using Windows 8 32 bit. And i know vb.net and FreeBasic and AutoIt. I want to learn a cross platform language. I like the syntax and features of Genie. But i don't know where to start. Is there any single exe package which contain Genie IDE, Compiler and Genie documentation ? Or do i need to download these 3 items separately ? Thanks in advance.

Welcome Mate.

As it looks pretty straightforward to me, you should probably just go for it.

Hi Semme,
Thanks for the reply. But the link in your first answer is for Geany (The great cross platform IDE). And i have asked about Genie the programming language. In your second answer, you included a link, but i have already visited it. But somehow, i found link to vala compiler.

The genie programming language is really just an abstraction layer over C that looks python-like. I'd recommend just learning C or python.

RE: geany IDE in windows
I use geany from http://portableapps.com/apps on the same usb stick as puppy.
