Need drivers for Lucent, Motorola softmodems

#1 Post by jeff.p »

Hi, I have two softmodems here. I've been searching unsuccessfully for linux drivers (google, linmodems) and thought I would try my luck here. The info on the modem is:

Lucent
1656T00
REA 12
9927S 1614735

1034AH-J
9926T
69556741

FCC info:
I56LVP-F1
2h9TAI-25492-M5-E
303 98 1 010084

----
Motorola
62099-51
82002352
A8A0623
9814 USA

Model WIN5601/5602
FCC ID: H52PT-3017

Hope somebody can help me get one of these working, I'd really like to get Puppy online.

Ahhh got the lucent modem working! I downloaded the ltmodem-2.6.8alk-k2.6.16.7.tar.gz which I found on these forums, installed it using pupget, then added my isp info in GK Dial, using the CHAP protocol.

Worked on puppy 2.02. This is my first time dialing out from home on linux :D This pc has 65mb of ram which isn't really enough for seamonkey but dillo is running fine.

Mods: Thanks for changing the thread subject.

Try the full hard drive install, then 65 MB ram would be plenty. You will need to create a linux partition and a linux-swap partition for memory is also a good idea.
