Bodhi forks e17, introduces the Moksha Desktop

As a software project Moksha will be a continuation of the E17 desktop. We will start by integrating all of the Bodhi changes we have simply been patching into the source code over the years and fixing the few issues the desktop has. Once this is done we will begin back porting a few of the more useful features E18 and E19 introduced to the Enlightenment desktop and finally, we will introduce a few new things we think will improve the end user experience.

James C:

Thank you for the update. Bodhi is one of my favs after Puppy but I gave up on it to focus on the Puppy world. Still, an interesting move by Jeff.

Best,

Tested BodhiLinux 3.1 to get some first impressions.
(I've almost forgotten why I skipped *buntu -s in the first place.. ;)
So.. as a fork of E17 it looked a lot like E17 does.
EFM was replaced with PCmanFM.
Once installed, runs pretty fast on really old Dell(prod.2001 P4@1.5GHz, 512DDR, 128ATI)

Think Moksha would be a nice spin, like as if replacement for JWM on TahrPup6.. etc.

Would be quite interesting to make it (Moksha) work for Puppy too .

Well worth the look. They're trying to make it smaller. It's only *buntu-based and the icing makes the cake. Runs real well from the HD on my P4's.
Today only. Anger not. Worry not. Be grateful working karma. Be kind.

boddi Linux was part of my Linux Distros before

#8 Post by Pelo »

boddi Linux was part of my Linux Distros before i met Puppy, so light and efficient, then i gave up with Ubuntu, Bodhi and so on..
But first, before enjoying the desktop, i need some wireless, I am quite sure how to repare, But you got a yellow card on that matter !
And you are not guilty, but the fact that drivers included in our puppies have to be replaced by rcrsn 51 ones is over my understanding. rcrsn51 retired, nobody could move with his laptop 50 meters away from his adsl box !
I had to change the kernel, to fit drivers provided by rcrsn51. And i hate tablets, because not keyboard.
About the "dogs", i can get satisfied with XenialDog, i have a 8gb pendrive for this Dog.. But the team plays computing, not really to release an OS for thousands of people. I posted there only to inform that an application was working well; i was disturbing... Because what is working well has no interest for them :!:
For me Puppy Linux remains the best OS, and for a long time.. Each person on earth should have A Puppy Linux in his pocket, besides his phone. In case of need.
