sam2p

http://www.digimantra.com/linux/convert ... extension/

sam2p is not maintained anymore, but source code is still available and can be compiled, built and installed with standard compiling tools, and few dependencies.

It is said to be better than imagemagick.

Examples will get you started, as shown on the website above. The Readme file from the extracted folder is where you will find all information available to compile and use sam2p.

It used to be available from repositories in Ubuntu, but it is six years ago. Since it is not maintained anymore, compiling code should be your way to have it installed.
