A Firefox Test Pilot Web Experiment.
Drop your file here to start uploading :
https://send.firefox.com/
It is a replacement for using email, setting up a sync service like Dropbox, or using a CLI tool like Wormhole.
Introducing Send :
Send lets you upload and encrypt large files (up to 1GB) to share online. When you upload a file, Send creates a link to pass along to whoever you want. Each link created by Send will expire after 1 download or 24 hours, and all sent files will be automatically deleted from the Send server.
Unlike other Test Pilot experiments, Send does not require an add-on, and can be used in any modern browser.
Privacy :
When you use Send, Mozilla receives an encrypted copy of the file you upload, and basic information about the file, such as filename and file size. Mozilla does not have the ability to access the content of your encrypted file, and only keeps it for the time or number of downloads indicated.

Looks great, but here's what I get when I click the link in (Quirky Werewolf's) SeaMonkey:labbe5 wrote:https://testpilot.firefox.com/experiments/send/

This is an upload/download encryption sending/receiving scheme? And yet Mozzila is telling you they will only keep it (wink, wink) on their servers until said specified number of downloads are reached? Yup, uhemm, uhemm (cough, cough...) I believe that. What's different about this as opposed to using Tor with sneder/receiver encryption enabled? For that matter, even encrypted peer-to-peer technology where nothing is stored anywhere and can't be deciphered unless the receiver knows the public key and yet also happens to know who even sends it. This simple layer of security is not available in this mozilla scheme since browser are mercilessly full of holes and easily tracked online. Colour me unimpressed, seriously unimpressed
Looks like Mozilla possibly got the idea for this from AMRDEC SAFE , which is the army's secure file upload and encryption system online. Doesnt seem very safe or secure at all comparatively though.
