I realized at the last minute that I forgot about April Fool's Day and I've decided to prank my grandma by booting Linux on her laptop while she's sleeping or taking a shower or something. Originally I was gonna boot Elementary OS because she might not notice it's different right away, but her laptop doesn't have a disc drive and I don't want there to be a flash drive sticking out of her laptop, so that basically means Puppy Linux is my only option. (Or I suppose there could be other options, but I don't know about them. I just use Linux because Windows 10 sucks, and I normally use Linux Mint.) But I have absolutely no idea how to do this. Obviously I know what to do on a computer designed to run WINDOWS, but I've barely even used Apple computers. Heck, is it even POSSIBLE to run Puppy Linux totally in RAM on an Apple computer? That's what I need to do for this prank to work. So how do I do this?

I assume this MacBook is Intel based processor.

If it is a really new MacBook, try using one of the newer Puppies for the hardware support.

For what you are wanting to do. I strongly suggest you put Puppy on a micro USB flash drive and boot it from that.

Trying to install it on the MacBook hard drive is just asking for problems trying to get it back to just Mac OS.

Someone that has a Mac is going to have to tell you how to make the MacBook boot from USB.
I assume, like most computers, you hit some F key and it offers the boot device option.
