Why use Adguard DNS?
Provides a necessary minimum of ad blocking, privacy protection, browsing security and parental control functionality.
Parental control functionality may appeal to parents of young children.

Finally, as with DNS.Watch, it is a distrust of Internet service providers that make alternate public DNS servers appealing. Some internet service providers can't be trusted, keeping logs, or preventing their customers from enjoying some websites (geo restrictions).
