Does anyone know if Fatdog can be installed and run

#1 Post by PappyPuppy »

using the Pendrive tool YUMI? I would like to have Ubuntu alongside Fatdog. I'm sure it can be done - I just wonder if it can be done as a .iso type of boot.

Only way to know is to try it.

You could be the first one on this forum to do it.

Iso booting has worked in the past using Puppy version iso.
The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
When I was a kid I wanted to be older.... This is not what I expected
YaPI(any iso installer)

But I will eventually put them all together - it WILL need me to try something either with the syslinux approach or possibly chained with the grub2 approach. Someone has to try it though.

How that technology works - how does Fatdog or Grub or whatever know how to unpack the iso?

Grub2 (grub-1.98 in our case) has the ability to boot any iso file of a linux distro if you know the right boot options. Even grub4dos has in some manner this ability but the iso file must be "contiguous". For example you can copy a iso file on to a usb stick freshly formatted and than install there grub4dos to boot the iso file.

I boot Fatdog64 from a pendrive on a daily basis and I used YUMI to make it.
