Hello,
Picty is a pure picture manager tool, no editing, no fancy tools, just tagging and grouping of pictures. BUT ist is the only program I came across yet, that uses my folder structure, which resides on a NAS, and does not need hours of 'importing' or rebuilding a database each time the program is started. Picty also is recursive, meaning I give it the top folder, and within minutes it displays all images out of all subfolders (around 2000 so far) and I can then group by tag and change tags, mark pictures to delete etc.
Here is a description of picty, install instructions for Ubuntu and a link to the ppa.
It's really lightweight and fast, would be a great addition to Puppy. Can someone package it, along with the dependencies (i guess some Python stuff) for Tahrpup and/or Xenialpup? Fatdog would be a bonus
Cheers
Picty for Fatdog, Xenial- or Tahrpup
Bookmarked. Can we download it from the PPM ?
Bookmarked. Can we download it from the Puppy Linux PPM, if yes, i do it immediatly.
No, it's not in the ppm. Meanwhile, I managed to install in Xenialpup64 and Tahrpup64 by manually resolving dependencies and a little wild-guessing.

where picty_1testing is the deb package from the ppa. The other packages are in the ppm in Xenial and Tahr. Fatdog has some more yet unresolved dependencies. Would be great if someone could wrap the Ubuntu packages in one pet.
