It seems that GTK+3 is required to run Chrome 59. The repository has a listing for GTK+3-3.8.2.
If I download and install this library, what will it break?
Should I install GTK+3 in Slacko 64-6.3.2?

Shouldn't break anything, mate, is the short answer to that.
It won't overwrite GTK2, because that's totally different. And if it's a newer version of GTK3 (which from the sounds of things, you don't have anyway), it'll just write alongside it. With it installed, Chrome should pick up what it's looking for.
Just to be on the safe side, back-up your save-folder before you try it. That way, you've a known 'good' configuration to fall back to if necessary.
