Nice picture Moat :) Hope you both have fun.

Re-open your threads Fred. This is the perfect place for people like you.

Flash
really seems best to delete this thread and follow zagreb999 suggestion.
This place is full with users who have no respect to anything. No point to share or contribute more here.
Delete my account, please. And enjoy the pleasure while doing it ;)
Only then fredx181 and rufwoof will feel safe to ride on my back again. As usual.

I know Toni....nobody understands you .
Seems somehow you are a masochist.
So i will give it to you . Here is another one .
Let me explain it this way....(this is shall be a joke hahaha :    :)

A Masochist and a Sadist had an encounter.....says the Masochist to the Sadist " Please torture me pleeeaaassse :D :D " says the Sadist "Nooooo    .

For for my justification .
Felt somehow bored while waiting for some constructive contributions.
(does not matter from whom )
Meanwhile trying to have some fun. So i wanted to entertain myself and try to amuse the waiting crowd.
And what`s your contribution ?
You are just working to confirm your legendary reputation as a Party-killer ( we call it Spass-Bremse in german..."Fun-Break" ).

Hey man ,this is not fair .....
No man ....it really is not. And it is not funny .
Bad Karma ...man.

The only chance for you to get rid of this terrible curse is ... " let`s say 200 extra friendly posts ".(This includes interest and compound interest ).

Greetings from Germany

Since I currently have no plans to do any further development work, it might be useful to anyone taking over DebianDog project to list the small system contributions I have made, so that work can be more easily maintained:

I replaced the original (insecure) chpupsocket system script (by Fred?) with a hopefully much more secure small C program, which I created and compiled.

http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 074#755074

I modified various DebianDog system scripts to make it possible to boot from SD (including related mods to system scripts: Porteus boot initrd.gz, drive-info, lspart, mnt-all, mnt-backing, mountlink, mount-wizard)

http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... 773#850773

I also completely restructured and modified DebianDog installer script (original script was written by Terry aka Sunburnt) to remove a major issue with vmlinuz not being found by the bootloader (sometimes) on usb/SD flash drives. Also modded the script to allow for SD card installs.

http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 937#851937

All these changes/mods/additions appear in all the Dogs AFAIK and I commented and dated all such changes I made throughout the relevant scripts so that others could further develop my work or contact me regarding them if required.

I also extracted all the bits and pieces and made many mods to get wifibox from (all over the place on) Slitaz working fine for me in XenialDog32, including possibility to use tazpanel functionality. (Fred modified my work further and made a couple of alternative deb packages for it):

http://45.33.15.200/puppy/viewtopic.php ... ffe#906178

I also modified the C source for 01micko's netmon_wmc package (changes were committed by 01micko to woof-ce I believe), which I think might be used in some Dog or other

http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 876#906876

I instigated and opened the DebDog github page/resource and encouraged Toni and Fred to start using that at a time they were too busy to get to grips with what was on offer there. Happily they eventually got round to that and moved all contributions over to there (Fred creating the related DebianDog website).

http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 796#837796

Aside from the above, I may or may not have made some other contributions I can't remember (aside from some bash/gtkdialog scripts which may or may not be used in recent Dogs anymore).

I can verify that Terry (sunburnt) did also create many scripts/Bacon programs for the original DebianDogs (in addition to the Dog installer script) but again I can't say how much of that continues or not to be used in later Dogs. Nevertheless, I think it would be incorrect to suggest that any Dog was sole created since they cannot really be separated in terms of some of the underlying functionality. Several other people made significant contributions I believe (also some Puppy-Rus people?). However, the look and feel and userland apps/display manager etc are certainly very different when comparing the likes of original Toni DebianDog and later Fred XenialDog "arrangements".

Personally I couldn't care less who contributed or claims some kind of ownership rights to these projects, or whether Toni takes (some certainly due) credit for starting this line of Dogs up, or whether thanks go mainly to the earlier pioneers such as sickgut or JBV. Main thing is that it has turned out to be a great wee system that fulfills most of its design aims (including full multiuser login capability, which I encouraged as an important design aim from near the start of it all) and I hope it continues somehow to be maintained by someone...

I'm certainly happy to see Toni back with new ideas and clear intentions to help support the existing product (and also contribute to actual Puppy development itself), but the politics surrounding the Debian/Ubuntu-based 'Dog' releases do feel a bit tricky and exhausting now.

I have no feelings of animosity towards either Toni or Fred, and I doubt anyone will develop any of the Dogs further other than one or both of them (somehow).

Cheers, William
