Installation CD requires second copy of ISO Subject description: Installation difficulty
[Apologies. I hit New Topic instead of Post Reply. I have since duplicated this post in the right place.]
On an empty machine, I boot from the Quirky 8.2 CD and click Install. I select Full Installation. During the install process, I'm told to either download the ISO file again or tell Quirky where to access it. To follow this process, I must now copy the ISO file to a second media and mount it during the Live CD session. How ridiculous! The Quirky CD was burned from that ISO and all the needed files must be present on it.
The Download option would make sense if the installer was supplied as a small ISO without the rest of the distro files. But to ask users to re-download data they already downloaded is wasteful of their bandwidth.
Other Puppy Linux releases were easy to install. Have I misunderstood something?
