Getting your security freezes in place is sort of important now. Only reason not to is laziness. Don't let that happen. A S.F. will neuter nearly all attempts to use any data sloshing around out there as a result of this.
Good luck!

P.S. Isn't it just wonderful capitalism how 3 of the U.S. company's top officers all sold stock days after they themselves first learned about this bigger than huge breach? And it wan'ts even the pre-planned, restricted sales type either, where'd they'd have no worry about people questioning it. These 3 just up ands let---together---several million go in EFX stock. Gawd bless us all born and raised on U.S. capitalism. Rolling Eyes

Yes but the core business of this specific company is to judge whether people are trustworthy in a financial sense.

The irony.

Yeah, this takes the cake. These corporate data breaches have been getting bigger and more damaging as time goes by. Now the company of companies, with all the personal information and accounts all in one! Great job Equifax. Nice one.

Just got my email from Experian. What a joke:
"...we are here to support you." - yeah right
"...you're not in this alone." - yeah, me and my millions of fellow citizens who just got screwed

Thing is, this whole identity theft thing is so easy to fix. We just need a centralized government identity verification system with proper authentication. Just knowing Name and SSN should not be all that is needed for criminals.
