Subject description: how do i extract them on the command line?

I've tried extracting .tazpkgs (slitaz pkgs), just to have a look at their in-house tooling, custom scripts, pkgs, etc..

But I can't actually get to the package contents..

They are cpio archives, so I googled around and found:

Slitaz Handbook wrote:
The format of the packages using the *.tazpkg extension is a cpio archive containing a filesystem compressed with lzma, a receipt and an optional description

I tried extracting with

cpio -i <pkgname.tazpkg

But I can't seem to get the lzma or other cpio files to extract (the actual pkg contents are in there)..
And it gets messy trying to maintain the pkg structure while extracting the various archive files..

Does anyone know of a nice script/func to extract tazpkg files into ./$pkgname/ (a dir matching the pkg name)?

.. so that you end up with the normal pkg contents, ready to be tar'd up..

EDIT: even better, a tazpkg to .tar.gz converter func? I can't find anything..
