Subject description: I need to connect to the internet via WIFI

I bought a wireless network adapter wifi antenna for desktop.
In the installation CD of this WIFI adapter came drivers for Linux.

From the first post, this apparently requires the Ralink RT2870sta driver. Release kernel for Slacko 5.3.3-4g was 3.1.10 (uname -r in terminal confirms). Later versions of RT2800usb may drive this adapter. Complaints about it seemed to dry up in 2013, so something like Slacko 5.7 or Tahrpup 6.0, released in 2014, or an even more recent pup should work.
However, your first post does appear to show source code, (unavailble from Ralink now) and if so, it is possible to dowload the devx & source files (large) and compile a driver, then blacklist RT2800usb & RT2x00usb. Complicated with no guarantees, and you would have to do it yourself as the source code is needed.
There is the possibility of using ndiswrapper with the win xp drivers, but again no guarantees - would still need to blacklist RT2800usb & RT2x00usb.
As the source code for RT2870sta is no longer available from Ralink online, I believe a later pup would be your best option.

Agreed. If you don't want to upgrade too far, get Slacko 5.6. It definitely recognizes the rt2800usb device.

To be sure, run the command: lsusb.

Identify the vendor:product ID codes, like 148f:5370.
