Slacko5.7 Mini-eee

#1 Post by 8Geee »

After some thought, I decided to apply the recent upgrades of BASH and WPA_Supplicant to the mini-eee spin. These two updates are very important for users. The updates are twofold:

1.) The mini-eee can now print due to BASH update. I have included the CUPS info from the testing so that the engine loads properly and works OOB. This increases the iso size a bit (136.75Mb).

2.) WPA2 is also fixed. The Slackware patch installed and works properly. IMPORTANT NOTE: no matter what the end-user does, there is still the one wifi-server vunerability (so-called Access Point (AP) vunerability). The nine other end-user problems are solved.

Other than that, FF27 is still the Browser with a few added setting-tweaks for security/privacy since the last update.

Link to mini17c.iso is here.

update 10/22/17: The "mini-eee" version is now substantially identical to the "eons" edition without the office The WPA_supplicant issue has been patched. Therefore, this will be the final edition of the "mini". Mini-eee patches can be seen in the EONS thread in this section.
