Making your Browser Pretend its Some Other

#1 Post by mikeslr »

Hi All,

I was having the same problem accessing Yahoo mail as sheldonisaac posted here: http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... 620#974620. Thanks to spiritwild's response (2nd post below that) having your web-browser identify itself as some other browser came to my attention. Addons/Extensions in Iron and Palemoon were discovered and installed which solved the problem.

The Extension for Iron (and probably other Chrome-clones) is named User-Agent Switcher for Chrome. That for Palemoon User Agent Switcher. But if I recall correctly, I first had to install Development Tools into Palemoon. Somewhere along the line I received a notice that it would not be available for Firefox 57. That, in itself, shouldn't pose a problem. But its unavailability for such browsers as Seamonkey, Palemoon, Light and Waterfox when they become based on Firefox 57 or later might.

You may have to experiment which spoof is accepted by each website refusing your browser permission.
