Please find attached a simple, if irreverent , window manager switcher. This is
answering a couple of requests from forum members on the waimea and xenial64
threads. (Not to name them , bigpup and mikesLr!) Just for me, I would not
have bothered writing this script, since I am totally comfortable with the procedure
of typing < Ctrl-Alt-BackSpace > and < xwin Window_Manager >.
The technique I used to create this script creates a CLI app in its own window, a
"quasi-GUI app", as I like to call them. The only hindrance, for some people, will
be that they have to type in their choice -- they won't be able to click it. For once,
they will have to give their fingers some exercise -- instead of always using their
wrist and thumb!
Required: file WM.lst2 (included) and a sense of humor (not included). I hope
this has piqued your curiosity!
As you can see in the illustrations, I have four WMs installed on this Puppy.
I have tested switching back and forth from each of them and it went fine.
The provided list of WMs mentions*:
If you have a WM that I do not have on this Pup, especially kde, fluxbox or xfwm4,echinus fluxbox icewm jwm kde
openbox pekwm waimea xfwm4 xmx
could you kindly test this script with it? Thanks.
Enjoy!

* Please note that this list of WMs can be added to. If you know how they
are launched at the /root/.xinit level, you could add, for example, blackbox, mate,
etc., and adapt the script a little if need be.
