When I bring up the menu ->setup->cups in xenialpup64 7.5 It seems a mess up so I would like to go to where it loads from and have a look to see what it is trying to do and maybe fix it .

Can anyone tell me where such files are kept that I could look at ?

Hi April.

I can't remember the names of the various files ATM, but the "cups" protocol to set
up your printer (if that is what you are talking about) is loaded via your browser.
Code:
[~]>grep cups .jwmrc
gives me:
Quote:
<Program label="CUPS manage printing" icon="/usr/share/pixmaps/puppy/print.svg">cups_shell</Program>
so it's within the script called "cups_shell".

cups_shell is at /usr/sbin/cups_shell.

You can type in console
Code:
geany /usr/sbin/cups_shell
or
Code:
more /usr/sbin/cups_shell
to have a closer look.

IHTH.

I often faced the same problem and therefore wrote me a script: mm_menuinfo
Works with JWM and translates all menu items into their source paths.

The file that provides the menu is:
Code:
/root/.jwmrc

This is a hidden file.

Good stuff gets lost in the forum.
Kind of wish the How To section had some subsections to it.
It is like digging for gold, sometimes!!

It would be a lot easier if good stuff on the forum had radioactive markers. Then you'd just
buy a Geiger counter, walk around a bit, and listen for crackling noise.
(Flash always hides the tongue-in-cheek icon when you need it...) Laughing

You're welcome, but excellence has its limits.
My script might not work with newer JWM versions (2.3) and also might refuse to run when the JWM menu was edited with radky's PupMenuEdit.

I'll prepare an update. Meanwhile I'm keen to know if other problems occur.
