Subject description: HP Pavillion 2000

I recently downloaded Macpup.
No problems and works fine for my needs as long as it is connected to the ethernet. The wi-fi switch will not work while running Macpup although it works as it should when running Windows 7 which the laptop was originally loaded with. Can anyone tell me what to do to make the switch active again or perhaps just have the wi-fi turn on during boot?
I am an enthusiast, not a programmer so keep it simple please. I loaded Macpup for a quicker operating system for web searching and email.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Is it Fn F2 to turn on your wireless.

Or CTRL+F2.

Personally for Puppy I think that it would be press>> Fn F2.
No light no wireless.

Fn F2 turns on/off wireless adapter.
Try toggling the function switch.
Does the laptop have a wireless ON LED?

SOLVED! Michael -

I don't believe it but yes that was the problem
(I hang my head in shame).
There is no LED for wireless on my laptop and it wasn't a function+F2.

I actually tried that and it didn't work prior.
After reading your post I just realized it's a CTRL+F2 to switch on and off.

For the archive record for anyone else with this problem:
After CTRL+F2 I needed to right click (not left) on the network icon on the panel.
Then check off Enable Wireless.
After that I needed to choose my network from the list.
Thank you very much Michael - that one tripped me up.
