Hi. Using Slacko64 7.5 -- lovely! Sound, Wine, all work!

Okay, so I've installed a Windows app using Wine. I've dragged the .exe file to the desktop. Works wonderfully. I want to set the icon. I get the prompt to "Drag an Icon file here." I have the icon in both .png and .jpg formats. I try to drag the icon from the file manager to the box where I think I should be dragging it, but no luck. Perhaps I misunderstand the idea of dropping a file? I'm really confused. Can someone help? Thanks.

And yes, after all my perambulations, I've settled on Slacko.

.png is the best icon file to use.

Seems you are getting to the correct window.

Right click on the desktop .exe file.
Select set icon.

Open the Rox window to the location of the .png icon file.
Left mouse click and hold on the .png icon file.
Drag it to the set icon window and release the left mouse button when the cursor is over the "drop icon file here".

Make sure to have only for this file selected, so it only changes the icon for this specific exe file.

The best icons are 48x48 in size. 48 in their name.

Could be the icon file you are trying to use.

Try an icon from here:
/usr/local/lib/X11/pixmaps

Where are you getting Slacko64 7.5????
The latest Slacko is 6.9.9.9 and it is still in testing.

Sure you are not using Xenialpup64 7.5?

Also suggest that the icon you want to use be from a location available at bootup such as /usr/share/icons or /usr./share/pixmaps. Otherwise it may not appear on your desktop launcher when your Puppy starts. If not already in one of those locations, copy it there.

I can only plead a bad flu. I'm using XenialPup. I'm truly sorry about my mental flub. And I figured out how to get what I needed. I saved the icon file to the desktop. Opened the icon file in the image editing program, and dragged that image into the box where I'm to drop the icon. Worked like a charm. I had thought that dragging the icon file from the file manager (I use xfe) would do the trick. I was wrong. Thanks.
