Hugepage support in Puppy?

#1 Post by darcshadow »

I've been playing around with ubuntu for a couple of weeks now and got a setup working the way I want but I wanted something smaller so I'm playing around with Xenial Puppy. I've nearly got everything working the way I want but I need to enable hugepages.

I did a search on the forums and through google but have not had any luck finding anything useful relating hugepages and Puppy.

Is enabling hugepages even possible with the version of Puppy I have? If not, can anyone suggest a different flavor of Linux to try that also runs from ram?

Puppy kernels usually do not support hugepages (HUGETLBFS and HUGETLB_PAGE "is not set").
Maybe someone has a custom kernel or you may want to build one. The puppy kernel kit makes it fairly easy.

Thanks, I'll give building a kernel a try when I get a chance.
