Gnome-Maps is an alternative to Google Maps, and you can install it from your repositories.
Bionic has it. Check in your repositories with apt-cache search gnome-maps (Dog users), or using PPM (Puppy users).
Why use an alternative to Google Maps? For privacy purposes.
Facebook is in hot water because of data sharing, so let's do yourself a favor, and use alternatives as often as possible, instead of Google apps.
