1680x1050 resolution with i915 driver?

#1 Post by Marv »

Is anybody sucessfully running this 16:10 resolution with intel video hardware? I am considering upgrading a 5:4 aspect ratio monitor to this for one of my users who is somewhat visually challenged. I don't have it yet or anything with a higher res. to play with so no specific advice needed. I am comfortable with modelines, xrandr etc. The hardware and driver used is briefly summarized below:

J1900 CPU (intel Bay Trail)

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Atom Processor Z36xxx/Z37xxx Series Graphics & Display (rev 0c)

24.803] (II) intel(0): Using Kernel Mode Setting driver: i915, version 1.6.0 20160919 (I'm in uPupBB on that machine right now)

He is currently still running X-Slacko 4.4 with whiskermenu but I have the current LxPupSc, LxPupArtful, uPupBB etc. installed on that machine as well.

I swapped in a widescreen 19" 1366x768 there for feedback yesterday so it may be a mute question but maybe not :?

Just trying to get a feel, thanks
Pups currently in kennel :D Older LxPupSc and X-slacko-4.4 for my users; LxPupSc, LxPupSc64 and upupEF for me. All good pups indeed, and all running savefiles for look'n'feel only. Browsers, etc. solely from SFS.
