I notice that youtube videos need html5 to play. The following link
http://forum.slitaz.org/topic/html-5-midori

says that you need gstreamer for html5 to work with midori. I notice that I have a few versions installed but not the following one that I see in the package manager.
Quote:

libQtWebkit-video 2.3.4-kde4 Web browser engine for Qt (with gstreamer HTML5 audio video support)

Maybe I'll try it and see if it gives me html5 support for midori.

I figured out that you can get dual monitors to work by installing lxrandr from the package manager.

After installation, re-login to slim and then under setup, there should be a menu option called, "Monitor Settings"

Silly question - BUT - all the years I have been using puppy I have never had to log in to get started.

Why do I have to log in to get started with Tazpup??

Is there a good reason why the choice to be multiuser has been made for me before I boot?

If it is easy to get rid of the login screen please tell me how and I will do it on my personal Tazpup. I understand why maybe other people want a different login choice, but I never want that. (the most I want is to choose "run-as-spot" method or "run-in-container" when I run a browser session that needs extra security).

Loving Tazpup so far. And very astounded at the quality of Midori! Jemimah did so much with Midori on Saluki and it would be great if she ever came back. I wonder who set up Midori to be so successful with Slitaz? They did a good job!)

Edit the file /etc/slim.conf, e.g:
Code:
default_user    root

(or tux)

And uncomment "auto_login" and set to yes:
Code:
auto_login       yes

The sound on palemoon v29.9 is working for me now. I'm not sure which thing it was that I installed that got it working.

The list of packages I installed sorted by time is attached. It should be one of the more recent packages, which I installed that got palemoon sound working.

I installed a lot of things because I didn't know what I needed.

i usually try a Puppy as it is.
Midori 0.5.2 works well, you tube and audio.. Midori is a low cost browser. I don't know how mistfire did, Will Midori with X-slim Slacko and Tazpup do as much as Palemoon. ?
Sfs : click on it, install Razz ok with sfs from puppy

I found out that in TazPanel, under hardware there is an option to auto-install xorg video drivers. This keeps me from guessing what I might need.

I got dual monitors working a second computer (this time alpha 9, previously I did it on alpha 11). Again I attached the package list of what I installed, sorted by date. I think it is probably one of the following packages that I needed:

Code:
linux-video, ftgl, pangox-compat, gtkglext, xorg-libXp, libglw-mesa, lesstif, mesa7, mesa-dri, xorg-xf86-video-intel, mesa-dri-intel, libdrm-intel, eina, eet, giflib, evas, ecore, embryo, edje
eio, eeze, libsdl, x264, x265, libvpx, opus, lame, rtmpdump, ffmpeg, libmodplug, xine-lib, emotion, libdv, libtheora, firmware

I'm guessing: xorg-xf86-video-intel, mesa-dri-intel, & firmware

but this is just a wild guess. Remember that I noted that TazPanel will tell you which Xorg Video driver to install, I'm not sure that it installs it correctly though. Anyone know which script it uses so that we can trace it from the command line?

P.S. I'm using synergy with two computers running TazPup each with 2 monitors so I got a four monitor array Very Happy

Midori, is lighter weight but it is less user friendly. For instance it doesn't have a searchable plugin "store" like plamoon does.

Hello there I find something weird on making tazpup using tazpup builder. On its first build the disk section of tazpanel is broken but when recreating for the second time the disk section now works.

I wonder why?

Also there is a paradox on squashfs compression. If the modules was compressed on gz or xz. It does not make the squashfs smaller but instead in become bigger. So smokey's kernel compiled modules was need to decompress. But I dont know how to depmod that modules folder using linux 4.16 kernel that I currently run.

xz compression is higher than gz so it should make a smaller file.

To depmod your modules just type depmod -A. You don't need to worry about folders as it know where to find them, or should do.
