If anybody knows of a serious small distro that needs a scripter or
coder, or even just someone to push the broom and empty the trash
can in their office, please leave me a private message (private in the
usual English sense, not in hamoudoudou's sense). I'm sure I'll get
more respect there than here.

After all I have contributed here. But hey, one has to know when to let
go. I still love Puppy. But Puppyists, well, that depends; it's a case-by-
case judgment call.

Hah! By my calculations, this is at least your 3rd declaration of intent to leave this Forum in the last 18 months. But you're still here.....hmm?

Musher0; answer this honestly, please. Are you aware of the definition of a "prima-donna"?

https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictio ... rima-donna

(Anyway; this is my final contribution to this particular thread. I agree with bigpup; it has (as usual) been dragged way too far off course.....mostly by one individual, who appears to constantly seek adulation & recognition way beyond his just due.....notwithstanding the fact that he has made many worthwhile contributions to the community, many of which have been of direct use to me, too.)

Musher0, dear boy; there's a limit to the sheer amount of 'thank-yous' any one individual can (and should) rightfully expect.

Hi Mike.

Yeah, I know what a "prima donna" is. As wiak mentioned above, some
people handle insult so elegantly it looks like a compliment. He
concluded that it would be difficult to write a script to catch these types
of insult. Thanks for proving that you are a master at this type of word
handling.

But hey, one more, one less, at this point, frankly, I don't give a damn.
I do not want special recognition or treatment, I only want respect and
absence of personal attacks for ALL members of a forum. You are
wrong or blindfolded to understand it any other way.

Such respectful forums exist. I gave a short list elsewhere. I repeat, for
the benefit of long-standing members here who may have come to think
that mud-slinging, even elegant mud-slinging  , is part of any forum
environment : respectful forums are possible and exist. Some
new forum software are even designed to facilitate nipping personal
attacks in the bud.

I wish you, Mike_Walsh, to NEVER have to go through the number and
level of personal attacks I have sustained on this board. Character
assassination attempts, racial slurs, etc., for how many years now? I
wish none of those on you.

As for me, I've reached my threshold. And as I said earlier: Tah-Dah,
sad unmoderated Puppy world.

i shall wait for page seven.. I am used to.. think about a place for 64 bits applications to be developed, not for me, 32 bits is fast enough for what i work with.
And add Dpup stretch by radky to the list (official would be fine)

Don't worry. If you see me roaming around here for still a little while, it'll
be because I'll be picking up my things (major scripts, improvements to
a couple of WMs, etc.).

What a dignified way to leave! The community will collapse, of course. It will not survive the tragic departure.

Thank you kindly, wanderer.

You are a true friend, and too few people on this board remember that
with your Puppy CE puplet, you insured the interim between the time
BarryK retired for good and the time the woof-CE team got organized and
produced a first Pup. You possibly prevented Puppy Linux from falling into
oblivion, IMO.

For that you should have Super-Hero status among Puppyists, along with
archivist ally, who in another way, is preventing our puplets from falling
into oblivion.

When you say
"don't pay any attention to negativity"
I have been the subject of innuendos and put-downs about my work,
such as here
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... ost#994642
for far too long on the French side.

Multiply that put-down (roughly speaking) once a week for ~ 5 years.

The above is an example of an innuendo aimed at me, but such
innuendos and put-downs have affected a number of developers on the
French side, for roughly the same amount of time, with a crescendo just
before Argolance left -- which led to his decision to leave, actually.
Argolance, jejy69, esmourguit, all extremely talented people, to name
only them, have left because of similar innuendos and personal attacks
by the same person.

Essentially, those personal attacks intensified after we stopped hearing
from Béèm, the then assistant moderator for the French side. He was
never replaced when we stopped hearing from him, by J. Murga or Flash.

As examples of forum-tolerated abuse and negativity from English-
speaking members you only need to read from page 1 of this thread, the
posts attacking me or my opinions. For other telling examples of what I
had to go through, please follow the threads I used while I was
developing my MRUF-lst history handler script. The final version of this
MRUF-lst script was recognized by BarryK.

I am a patient man, and I am tough-skinned, to a degree. I don't
remember if I said it on the English side, but I am not leaving PuppyLinux
(not yet anyway).

I am leaving to a refuge https://augras.eu/puppy_forum where
I can work in peace, without having to worry about some Puppyists
snapping at my calves or bum whenever I come up with an idea, a
script or an opinion that unsettles them. That negativity takes its toll,
like it or not.

Most Puppyists are fine people; it took only a couple to sour the entire
sauce. And since this forum is mostly unmoderated, those sour creatures
have free rein.

If someone came to me and said, "Look, Christian (my real first name),
we are starting a really well moderated and well managed forum for
Puppy. Are you in?" You bet, I'd be there in the bat of an eye!

But I've reached my threshold for this forum.

"Bonne route" ("safe road") to those of you who are my friends.
I will not forget you.

Oh, I'm sure we'll be okay. BTW - You should be able to remove your stuff without having to post any comments.
