You don't mean - with SiteMagic? Cause they'll update their software, and I'd like to update mine.

you just run the update.php included.....works pretty good for me

I have changed from SFS to making this a PET which sets up the server PHP parts and sets up install.php ready to run....this will insure the latest SiteMagic gets installed.

the PET method insures a better setup.

here is the PET -> https://drive.google.com/open?id=1AhVcuhdOtmzRwEzq-q7OwieD0MBwOaSA

I used Xenial 7.5 32 bit

contains Hiawatha 10.8.1 webserver PHP 7.0 and SiteMagic
download the PET click on the file let it install.
open a terminal and start Hiawatha

Code:
#hiawatha

or
Code:
#/etc/init.d/hiawatha start

to stop the server:
Code:
#killall hiawatha

or
Code:
#/etc/init.d/hiawatha stop

in a browser give the URL http://localhost/SMagic
for sitemagic upgrade http://localhost/SMagic/upgrade.php.

to check the PHP use http://localhost/info.php

any problems open a terminal in /root and enter:
Code:
#chown -R webuser:webgroup Web-Server

rockedge - didn't work.
Is the "#" character - suppose to be included in the codes, or default in terminal?
The PET - installed.
When entering the code - "#hiawatha" - it just goes to the next line.
When entering the code - "hiawatha" - it says - "Error binding 0.0.0.0:80".
And it goes to the next line - when I enter the code for the case there is a problem; whether with the "#" or without.
And when entering into the address-bar - "http://localhost/SMagic" - it says - "Internal Server Error
500"

I uninstalled - everything related - that I installed previously; was that OK?

P.S. the error "Error binding 0.0.0.0:80" - happens - only when I manually type "hiawatha"; not when I select the word here - and click middle mouse-button in terminal.
But I tried all options: typing and clicking - and nothing worked.

Thanks BarryK; but I prefer something ready-made; and they say they have hundreds of contributors, or something like that.

you are running Xenial? do you have anything using port 80 running already?
the "#" is the terminal prompt...sorry about that
try killall hiawatha then hiawatha again typed in a terminal.

I am testing it again...I used a fresh install of Xenialpup 7.5

the error binding means something is using port 80 or the firewall has it blocked.

I'm on Slacko 5.7.0.
I don't think I have something using port 80; I rebooted the computer - and tried "hiawatha" terminal command, only with FireFox running.
Now I typed "hiawatha" and nothing.
For the code "killall hiawatha" - it returns "killall: hiawatha: no process killed".

here it is : sitemagic-slacko570.1.3.pet size = 36 megs
made for Slacko 5.7.0

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1MjxoDVV_PuAyhocZL7VhzMwHbHb0aJ2R

again after installing the pet open a terminal and type "hiawatha" which will result in only a terminal prompt.

now open a browser and type in the address bar exactly :
http://localhost/SMagic

the login menu option is then on the top right corner
default :
user = admin
passwd = admin
this and all the info to use it is in the SiteMagic documentation.

to stop hiawatha in a terminal type : "killall hiawatha"

http://localhost/info.php will give all the php info
and http://localhost/blog will start the Puppy Personal Blog as does the menu entry Menu->Personal->PPLOG personal blog

to upgrade sitemagic use http://localhost/SMagic/upgrade.php

Good Luck...let me know if it works.

No problemo!

shellCMS, yes, I am the only user!

And as I'm working flat out on other things, it doesn't get much attention. It does basically what I want.

There are plenty of off-site CMSs, I recall, there is a website that is an index to hundreds of CMSs, don't recall the url.

Hello Barry!

while checking and constructing this PET I took a look at your CMS and I am going to start playing with it later today. Thank you for the insight.... shellCMS maybe something I could use on a regular basis.

BarryK - I know; I'm after a month or two of research. SiteMagic - caught my eye, from the beginning, and with deeper research - still seems a good choice; though as usual - possible to be disappointed.

rockedge - works!
Thank you very much!
