Wallpaper of the Day Pet (wotd) - Aug 2018:
A utility to automatically display a different wallpaper of your choice for each day of the week.
This pet should work with any WoofCE or WoofQ 32/64-Bit Pups. It has been tested with both jwm & Openbox.
The 5MB pet (wotd-V1.pet) is available via the direct download link below:
http://drive.google.com/uc?export=downl ... pRg1sK_STO
It contains a single script ( /root/Startup/wotd.sh ) plus 7 starter wallpapers which it adds to /usr/share/backgrounds
Their 6 letter case sensitive names are as follows:
Mon.jpg
Tue.jpg
Wed.jpg
Thu.jpg
Fri.jpg
Sat.jpg
Sun.jpg
Future substitution of your own preferred wallpaper(s) is simply a matter of renaming your choice to
match exactly one of the above names and then copying it to /usr/share/backgrounds so that it
over-writes the original starter wallpaper(s).
If you wish to use a .png file first use "save as" in mtPaint to save it in jpg format as for example... Sat.jpg
Should anyone be running wbar, provision is made in the script to restore transparency to the icon
bar following a wallpaper change. The code to do that uses xdotool which should be installed via ppm if it is not already present.
Installation:
1. Install the pet and restart X
Notes:
1. Depending on your windows manager you may see your original default wallpaper display briefly before the day's paper appears.
2. If the target pc is normally running 24/7 use Pschedule to create a daily cron job to run the script
at say 4 minutes past midnight. - example below in next post.
3. If you require additional wallpapers please see next post.
